How to create a Robot the Asian Style

In this tutorial I show you how to create a robot with some asian style elements.
Also I show you a way to create the nice red sun (Kamikaze style) which is placed in the background.

Step 1

Create a document and place the drawing.

Step 2

Place the drawing in the front (Opacity 50%). Then close the layer.
Create a new layer and paste him in the back.
Now create the outline of the robot (Colour: Black)

Step 3

Generate a new layer and create the areas for the darkest shadows (100 Cyan 100 Magenta).

Step 4

Generate a new layer and create the areas for the basic colour (100 Cyan 60 Magenta).

Step 5

Generate a new layer and create the areas for the black parts of the robot.

Step 6

Generate a new layer and create the areas for the bright parts (100 Cyan 30 Magenta).

Step 7

In this step we’re gonna create the robots face.

Step 8

Generate a new layer and place a white area in front of the black area for the mouth.

Step 9

After that place black areas in front of the white area to create the teeth.

Step 10

Now place the red areas (100 Magenta 30 Yellow) for the eyes.

Step 11

You finsihed the robot! Now we’re gonna create the background.

Generate a new layer and create a ellipse in red (100 Magenta 30 Yellow).

Step 13

Create a rectangle in red (100 Magenta 30 Yellow) and adjust the shape like its shown in the picture .

Step 14

Now place the smaller end of the shape in the middle of the ellipse.

Step 15

Now you got to rotate the shape. Place the rotating point in the middle of the ellipse. Press “Alt + Shift” to rotate and copy the shape with an angle of 45°.

Step 16

Now press “Strg + D” to replicate the last step.

Step 17

Select all shapes except the ellipse. Now rotate and copy the shapes again.

Step 18

We’re finished creating the sun.

Step 19

Paste the layer of the sun in back of the robotlayer.

Step 20

Create a white area for the ground.

Step 21

Assign a opacity of 30% to the ground.

Step 22

Now we place a ellipse for the shadow under the feet of the robot and assign the colour blue (100 Cyan 30 Magenta). Also we assign a opacity of 30% to the shadow.
